Academic Choir of Warsaw University of Technology

Warsaw UT Choir is undoubtedly one of the most dynamically developing ensembles in Poland and one of the best academic choirs nationwide. The choir is composed of mostly students and graduates of the Warsaw University of Technology: young and ambitious singers with a passion for choral music.

Its repertoire consists of nearly 50 a cappella pieces, with the biggest emphasis on the works of recognized composers of the 20th and 21st century.

Within 14 years of its existence the choir had the opportunity to frequently stage at both national and international festivals and has won nearly 20 choral competitions. It has performed in over 10 European countries. Since 2004 the Warsaw UT Choir has been conducted by Dariusz Zimnicki, DA, the pedagogue of the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.


K C Lights

K C LIGHTS is a school choir made up of students of KC Secondary School, Shillong. We formed the choir in 2013 with the aim of using our voices as instruments of peace and change and basically making people smile. We sing a wide range of genres from pop to blues, gospel to contemporary, folk to oldies. We have participated in various programmes in and our of our state but the one we will remember the most is the Asia Pacific Choir Games that was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka last year (2017) where we were awarded a SILVER DIPLOMA X. We aim to strive to bring change to this beautiful world of ours through our voices – as the legendary Late Bob Marley said “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain”.


The Latte Tones

The “Latte Tones” are the newest version of the University of Guam Singers that has been in existence for over two decades under the direction of Dr. Randall Johnson. The group consists of 16 auditioned singers who are students at the university from various majors but currently about half are music majors. All of their repertoire is a cappella and is primarily modern jazz and pop which uses vocal percussion, very low bass below 4-5 part harmony and soloist. By far, most of their performances have been on Guam but they have also performed many times in the Northern Marianas, Philippines, Japan, Thailand, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic and Australia. They have received gold awards and had the highest scores in their division (Vocal Jazz/Pop) at International Festivals in Thailand, Czech Republic and on Guam in recent years. Their repertoire is highly influenced by the a cappella groups Pentatonix, The Real Group, m-Pact and similar groups.


Penang Han Chiang High School Choir

Han Chiang Private High School Choir Society was established in 1978 with the aim of creating a platform for students to showcase their talent in vocal and singing.

Since its inception, the society grown to become one of the most active society in the school. Among the more accomplished achievement in recent memory was the 28th Primary and Secondary Schools Choir Competition (2016) in Penang where we won the Gold Medal Prize. And the 10th Grand Prix Thailand 2017, we won the Gold Medal Prize in Youth Category.

Apart from competitions, we are also invited to participate in charity concerts. This offers students an opportunity to perform. This will surely cultivate a sense of humility and kindness to the students and vital in social and character upbringing.


Penang Chinese Girls’ Primary School Choir

Penang Chinese Girls’ Primary School Choir Team, comprises singers from Primary 3 to Primary 6. Under the tutelage of the choir conductor, Ms. Ong Geok Cheng, the team has won awards at various stages at state, national and international level choir competitions in Malaysia and Singapore. Their achievement in recent years include winning the Gold Awards at Singapore International Choral Festival 2015, the 24th National Primary Schools Choir Competition, the 48th Kuala Lumpur Music Festival, Kuala Lumpur International Choral Festival 2017 and Winter Choral Festival 2018.

Having had the opportunity to participate in a few exchange programmes and workshops with several primary schools in Singapore, the Choir Team now plans to expand their horizon to participate in other international choral festivals and competitions.

Sisaketwittayalai Choir

The choir of Sisaketwittayalai were Founded in 2008 by the interested in the chorus of Mr. Pakasit Sornkeaw-a song director with a small group of student in the school. He was inspired by A Cappella 7 to start practicing and performing at school and province events and activities. With no experience in this field before. Later, the choir of Sisaketwittayalai Has developed into acceptable in the capacity. Represented in the 2008 Student Arts Competition, and that year was the first step in learning the right choral chorus. After that Sisaketwittayalai Choir has continued to develop until they have won the junior 8th International Choir Grand Prix Pattaya 2015 and won 2 silver medals in Mix Youth Choir Category and Spiritual & Gospel Category.

Ultima Sonora

Ultima Sonora is a student choir of Multimedia Nusantara University that is located in South Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia, established in 2007. Conducted by Antonius Ria Deni Sulistya, we have participated at several choir festivals. The most recent choir festival is the 3rd Singapore International Choral Festival (SICF) that was held in 2016 (two Bronze Diplomas for Musica Sacra and Mixed Voice category, Gold Diploma for Folklore category). Besides our participation at SICF, we recently held our 10th anniversary concert, ‘WE’RE: Symphony of a Decade’ in Usmar Ismail Hall, December 2017. We also participate in some of University’s events, such as orientation, graduation… Outside of choir festivals and university’s events, we often take part in external events, eg.:‘100 CEO Geography Conference by Kompas Collaborating with PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Nasional)’.


Young-Ran Women’s Choir

Since its establishment in 2014, Young-Ran Women’s Choir (YRWC) has become to represent the Korean choral society as one of the leading senior choirs in their remarkable activities with a good reputation. They were featured to perform at various prestigious concerts such Korea National Choral Festival & Korea Choir’s Festival as well as outreach concert for the community.

YRWC has a broad repertoire ranging from Korean traditional music, Korean art song, western traditional choral music to contemporary classical music.

It is made up of about 30 choristers from aged 50 and up to 75 who are graduated from the Jeonju girl’s high school. And it is founded and conducted by Ms. Sung-Ja LEE who is recently elected as president for Korean Federation for Choral Music.
