Regulations and Categories
Regulations:
The competition is intended for all types of youth and adult singing groups and choirs – male, female, and mixed.
- Minimum number of singers is 4.
- Programme (3 – 4 pieces) may last from 8 up to 10 minutes.
- All pieces need to be sung in at least three parts.
- All songs need to be sung in their original language.
- The choirs can compete in one or two categories.
- The programme shall consist of compositions of different characters and styles.
- Age of the singers must be minimum 15 years.
Categories:
Category A – Classical Music
The programme shall consist of secular or sacred compositions/arrangements based on the idiom of serious music.
The programme shall be sung a cappella, and one piece may be accompanied by piano.
Category B – Folkloristic Music
The programme shall consist of secular or sacred compositions/arrangements based on musical idioms of any kind of traditional folklore music.
The compositions/arrangements can be sung a cappella or accompanied by acoustic instruments.
One piece shall be sung a cappella.
Category C – Popular Music
The programme shall consist of secular or sacred compositions/arrangements based on the idiom of popular music.
The programme can be sung a cappella or may be accompanied by piano or acoustic instruments without electronical amplification.
Category D – Mixed Music
The programme shall consist of secular or sacred compositions/arrangements mixed from two or three categories.
The programme can be sung a cappella or may be accompanied by piano or acoustic instruments without electronical amplification.
One piece shall be sung a cappella.
