Ms. Juhaňáková is a graduate of Janáček’s Academy of Performing Arts in Brno in piano and choir conducting. She participated on the production of Mussorgsky‘s Boris Godunov at the festival in Salzburg and Japan with Claudio Abbado and prepared SFZ to introduce Wagner’s opera Rienzi with Zubin Mehta at the Vienna State Opera. In 2005, she made a successful debut at the Prague Rudolfinum theatre with the Prague Philharmonic Choir and the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra performing Verdi’s Requiem. She was awarded the Prize of Fric Kafenda 2015 by the Music Fund for excellent interpretive performances. Boris Godunow at the Vienna State Opera under the baton of Daniel Gatti and Sebastian Weigl was ranked as one of the most significant projects of 2007. In cooperation with the Opera Festival in St. Margarethe, Ms. Juhaňáková prepared SFZ to perform Verdi‘s La Traviata. She has also performed All night awakenness op. 37 /Vespers/ by Sergei Rachmaninov in Bratislava, Nitra, Paris, Palermo, Brno, Olomouc and this year at the Prague Spring Festival. In season 2012/2013, with SFZ, she participated in performing Dvořák’s Requiem with the Orchestre National de Lyon with conductor Tomas Netopil. In 2012 she was appointed professor and awarded the Crystal Wing prize 2011 for outstanding conducting and choirmaster artistic performances at the international music scene. In addition to teaching at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, she also works at the Department of Composition, Conducting and Opera Department at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno since 2014.
